There is a safety function built in to this pump system which automatically goes into hibernation if no button is pressed in 72 hours. If you have the heater system setup on timer and you don’t actually use the hot tub and press a button for 3 days it will turn off meaning a long re-heat if you don’t notice. This is less of a problem if you use your hot tub daily, but if you are a weekend user this can be a pain if you forget to go out and press a button to let it know you’re still there.

We have been reviewing inflatable hot tubs since 2015. In that time we have spent more than 40 hours researching them to find the best portable hot tubs on the market. The best hot tub we found was the Coleman Lay-Z-Spa 54131E. The Coleman hot tub is attractive and built for durability with a synthetic leather exterior, polyester-mesh-enforced PVC walls and vertical beams to prevent it from buckling and bending after repeated use. It has 120 bubble jets and can heat to 104 degrees Fahrenheit, and it can fit up to six adults.

It can be tricky for some people to purchase an inflatable hot tub as there are so many inflatable bath items these days, sometimes its hard to tell one from the other. For an easy sight check, the inflatable hot tubs will always be sided by robust heating/filtering machines, which are what really differs it from a simple inflatable pool or a simple inflatable tub.A detailed examination and you will know inflatable hot tubs are two-chamber pools and have an array of jet heads, either for bubbling or massaging, sometimes for both features at the same time and, likewise, the robust machine besides them will heat and filter the water, so you have a constant flow of water, it is always stirred – so you don’t have to worry about Zyca mosquito for example. To keep it always clean, these hot tubs have a cartridge filtering system since you are not planning empty it all the time.
If you require a hot tub with a smaller footprint, the Bestway Lay Z Spa Miami inflatable hot tub could be a good choice. It also has an affordable price tag, which is a definite draw. It also has an easy filling system with a digitalized control panel. Ideal for households that have limited space- the tub can easily fit into balconies, conservatories and small gardens. This portable hot tub ships with a maintenance guide, an installation chemical floater and 2 spare filter cartridges.
The best hot tub for you will depend on your requirements – for those looking for long term, energy efficient hot tub that’s built to last, that provides superior hydromassage and comfort – traditional hot tubs can’t be beaten. If you’d just like to try out a hot tub style experience in the short term then an inflatable hot tub might meet your needs.
For times when it makes sense to accessorize, the Intex Pure Spa Tub delivers. In addition to a quality six-person heated hot tub, this kit comes with a pump, 170 high-powered bubble jets, separate water filtration system, contoured removable headrest pads and an insulated tub cover. Additional accessories, such as a cup holder/tray table and extra headrests, are also available for purchase separately.
The design and structure of the tub is just as important as the materials used to make it. Many manufacturers use a segmented inflatable design, reinforced with a vertical I-beam structure inside. These internal vinyl panels make for a sturdier tub, one that can support users leaning against it or even sitting directly on the outer wall of the spa. Premium portable hot tubs add another level of stability and protection with interlocking panels that surround the inflatable tub. Made of waterproof composite materials, these panels provide a rigid wall that protects and insulates the hot tub.
Keeping the products in order, we will start with the Coleman Inflatable Tub. Most times, when you think of the Coleman brand, it brings to mind the typical camping tools and outdoors gadgets. The exterior is the classic Coleman-brand green. (This is usually their hallmark color for many of their products.) The interior is colored in a pristine, clean white and equipped with a cushioned floor that feels refreshing and soothing to the feet. Several bubble jets line the interior and serve well for water massages and bubble stimulation.
This kind of filtering is not very common as it is expensive but works really fine for beach scenarios where the salinity of the water can go beyond the normal. You don’t have to worry either about leaving the sea and getting into the tub right after. The tub filtering will cope with it just fine, while regular machines wouldn’t.Hawaii is not the largest of the tubs in the Lay-Z-Spa series, but it is wide enough to make a spacious hot inflatable tub: a 71-inch diameter and 28-inch tall. The tub is enough to fill 210 gallons of water (795 L), which are heated up to 104ºF (40ºC) within 30 to 45 minutes. You can also set the temperature and the functioning time of the tub through the digital control panel that is implemented over the heating and filtering tank.To set Hawaii things also go smoothly: it will be fully inflated in less than 5 minutes, though you have to follow the instructions accurately to connect the pump and all other hoses appropriately.
So like we touched on already, the main safety feature is a cover. This cover provides more than just a source of keeping the heat in and the dirt out, but it is for safety. With an inflatable hot tub, most will come with an inflatable locking top. The top will be sturdy and will be strong enough to stand on when properly in place and locked, although we don’t recommend dancing on top of it.
The soft but non flimsiness of inflatable hot tubs may be a hit or miss depending on the consumer. But a lot of people who have sat in $6000+ hot tubs have actually preferred the softer feel of inflatable tubs to the concrete, plastic and other mashups of portable hot tubs. Inflatable hot tubs are soft but firm, and really provide a relaxing feel compared to portable hot tubs. This is of course based on individual tastes, so take that with a grain of salt. Inflatable hot tubs also inflate and deflate pretty quickly, so that is less time waiting around for it to reach max capacity so you can start filling it with water. But portable hot tubs don’t have this waiting period at all, and if you’re the type that is in a rush that extra time it takes to inflate can really make a difference.
Cleaning the filter cartridges must happen weekly if you are using the tub on a daily basis. You can use hot water and dish soap to remove deposits and bleach to sanitize it properly. Rinse and wash it very well before placing it back. Some people will let it sit on a solution with bleach and water for a full clean up. Check every time whether the color of the cartridge is getting cloudy or not after the cleaning. When it it tainted beyond repair is time to replace for a new one. Manufacturers recommend the replacement every two weeks but once again, you are the final judge. Consider also the quality of the water to judge the replacement. When the filters must be replaced, the water also must be replaced.
You see, the construction on these tubs is amazing. You can actually sit on the side, actually several adults can sit on the side, and it holds up just fine. They are made of a reinforced material, it is not your typical blow-up pool material, these tubs can do it all now. They even come with an inflatable locking cover that not only keeps the heat in and the dirt out but adds a terrific safety feature. So let’s list the pros for you that we have enjoyed.
